Songs on this CD were played by Benny Goodman, Louis Armstrong, and Django Reinhardt with Stephane Grappelli in the 1930's and 1940's because they are GREAT Songs. They swing, they have strong melodies and lyrics. Bob Wills would have included these same tunes at the same time in American musical history for the dance factor at his gigs. Other songs that appear on THE SWINGFIELD PLAYBOYS FEATURING HERB REMINGTON, the contemporary originals, could have fit right in to those artists play lists for the same reason. All these tunes are fun to listen to or move your feet to. This CD is our play list in any given set on any night. Sweet, tastey pedal steel from Herb, beautiful fiddle [violin], and acoustic/electric guitar, strong pulsating rhythm. We just gave away our recipe.
